Jimmy Cowan returns to New Zealand

Monday, 8 March 2010

Highlanders Captain, Jimmy Cowan, will return to New Zealand today following a finger dislocation incurred against the Stormers in Cape Town over the weekend.

Cowan was replaced early in the second half after making a lunge at the try line which resulted in a dislocated finger on his right hand.  Cowan is expected to return to the field for the Rebel Sport Super 14 Round 6 match against the Sharks in Dunedin on Saturday 20 March.

Scott Cowan, who is part of the Highlanders wider training squad, will fly to South Africa as replacement for his brother.

Jamie Macintosh will captain the Highlanders for their final match in South Africa against the Bulls on Sunday morning (NZ time).
