MORE FM Junior Highlander For A Day – Get Sideline With The Highlanders!

The ‘MORE FM Junior Highlander for a day’ is back for the 2010 Rebel Sport Super 14 Season.  This season 6 More FM Junior Highlanders will be chosen for the Highlanders home games in Dunedin, Queenstown and Invercargill.

  • GAME 1 - Friday 19 Feb - Highlanders v Blues, 7.35pm at Carisbrook - the winner will be announced on this page on Friday 12/02 - WINNER: FINLEY GODFREY FROM INVERCARGILL.  All entries received go into the draw for the next Highlanders home game against the Sharks. 
  • GAME 2 - Saturday 20 March - Highlanders v Sharks, 7.35pm at Carisbrook - the winner will be announced on this page on Friday 12/03 - WINNER: JACOB GREER FROM DUNEDIN.  All entries received go into the draw for the next Highlanders home game against the Lions.  
  • GAME 3 - Friday 26 March - Highlanders v Lions, 7.35 at Carisbrook - the winner will be announced on this page on Friday 19/03 - WINNER: ETHAN LAW  FROM DUNEDIN.  All entries received go into the draw for the next Highlanders home game against the Western Force.
  • GAME 4 - Saturday 10 April - Highlanders v Western Force, 2.30 at Queenstown - the winner will be announced on this page on Thursday 01/04 - WINNER:  LANE O'CONNELL FROM QUEENSTOWN.  All entries go into the draw for the next Highlanders home game against the Hurricanes.

‘MORE FM Junior Highlander For A Day’ – The Prize

  • The winner is visited by a couple of the Highlanders and presented with their prize pack, including a 2010 Rebel Sport Super 14 Jersey to wear at the match.
  • The winner and one of the winners mate’s will be invited to have dinner with the team prior to the match.
  • The family of the MORE FM Junior Highlander will be invited to the match.
  • The MORE FM Junior Highlander will sit sideline with the team.

BNZ Junior Highlanders Club

BNZ and Otago Daily Times have come together to support a new membership initiative introduced by the Highlanders franchise for the 2010 season. The BNZ Junior Highlanders Club Card allows all registered junior rugby players free access to all Highlanders games played at Carisbrook for the 2010 Rebel Sport Super 14 season.

The membership cards will be distributed automatically to all under 13 aged registered rugby players within the North Otago and Otago regions. The cards will also be distributed to a select number of juniors within the Central Otago and Southland regions.

Southland and Central Otago are also supporting the circulation of the membership programme by offering cards to the first 100 family memberships sold among the Southland region and the first 100 tickets sold to the Queenstown Rebel Sport Super 14 game which will be played in April at the Queenstown Events Centre.

The Black Seeds Confirmed For Carisbrook Gig – 20 March 2010

The Black Seeds, in association with Speight's, will play at Carisbrook as part of the Rebel Sport Super 14 billing on Saturday 20 March 2010.  The Black Seeds will play a concert at the conclusion of the Highlanders versus Sharks game at the ‘Brook on the March date.

The Black Seeds are an 8-piece, Wellington band that have carved out their reputation on the back of two double-platinum selling albums, and a masterful 8-piece live show regarded as one of the best in New Zealand.

Highlanders Marketing Manager Doug McSweeney commented that in keeping with band game tradition of the last few seasons, having the Black Seeds play on March 20th is huge.   “We’re really excited about bringing the Black Seeds to Dunedin and Carisbrook, as they are a great Kiwi band, and I know they put on a great show”.

XT Events are assisting with management of the gig and expect ticket sales to be in strong demand.  Andy Farmer from XT Events commented - “Tickets will go on sale via TicketDirect and the usual local outlets in the New Year and we are expecting massive interest from the Southern public”.
